UHMC Students Win 2020 AAS International CanSat Competition | American Astronautical Society


The University of Hawai’i Maui College’s (UHMC) Engineering Technology Program sent two teams to the American Astronautical Society (AAS) 2020 International Student CanSat Competition. Team Onipa’a placed first and Team Paka’a, placed 23rd. Thirty-three teams from more than a dozen countries around the world entered the final phase of the competition which required teams to design, build, and launch a container holding a science payload. In conjunction with the Naval Research Laboratory, AAS organizes and hosts the annual event to inspire future engineers seeking creative solutions.
