UHCC Project Imua Mission 9 Team Takes First Place at the ARLISS Rocketry Competition 2021

This past September, the UHCC Project Imua Mission 9 Team claimed first place in the Extreme Altitude Hybrid Motor Competition at the ARLISS rocketry competition held in Black Rock, Nevada.

The UH Windward Community College team — consisting of Connor Wilson, Jared Estrada, and Patrick Ng — collaborated with the UH Honolulu Community College team, consisting of D'Elle Martin, Cameron Hoffman, Jared Rhey Pasalo, and Janum Canonigo, to fabricate hybrid rockets and payloads and to build on their previous successful launches.

Two additional students from Windward Community College also earned recognition: Nikki Arakawa and Quinn Patrick O'Malley each took second place for constructing and successfully launching solid Class H and I rockets.
