Adam Vorsino Awarded Best Student Presentation Award

The University of Hawai‘i News has just announced that Adam Vorsino, a U.H. Manoa Ph.D. student, and former Space Grant Undergraduate Fellow, was awarded the Best Student Presentation Award at the 3rd International Symposium on Biological Control of Arthropods held in Christchurch, New Zealand. Adam’s presentation was titled, “Using Molecular Tools to Identify and Describe Ecological and Evolutionary Processes Affecting Augmentative Biological Control.” Adam’s Space Grant Fellowship spanned two semesters, Fall 2002 and Spring 2003, and focused on the effects of certain sugars to enhance suspended animation in organisms, with implications for research into the stability of dry biological systems, organisms, and foodstuff during extended space flights. Congratulations!
