Chris Okubo Selected by NASA To Receive an “Early Career Fellowship in Planetary Science” Award

Chris Okubo, 1994-1995 Space Grant Fellow, is in the first group of 12 researchers selected by NASA to receive an “Early Career Fellowship in Planetary Science.” The $120,000 fellowship award is in addition to the three-year, $180,000 research grant he received funded through NASA’s Mars Data Analysis Program. Dr. Okubo earned his B.S. degree in Geology and Geophysics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1997 and Ph.D. at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2005. Chris is now working as a research associate with the HiRISE camera team at The University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory. View his list of research publications. Congratulations Chris!
