I would like to thank you and your staff for a wonderful weekend!
When we got home, he could not stop talking and demonstrating everything he learned.
He has already decided that he is going to next year's Future Flight!

Thanks again for the great program. My daughter can't stop talking about her
learning experience. She was sad that it had to end. She had fun and learned
much from this experience. She is asking about next year. A coworker of
mine also sent her son to the program. He is really excited about it
also. His mom is telling everyone in the office about it. They are all
coming to me and asking me about it. We will be looking for next year's
program.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of Future Flight. You have
"stretched" me in positive ways and made me a better teacher and

You both know how enthusiastic I am about your programs and involvement
with the children. Both of my children attended the last residential
session and were saddened about it not continuing. The most valuable
piece I see that cannot be duplicated is the intense 5 days of 24/7
interaction between students and faculty. No day program can replicate
the team building and personal development experienced by the attendees.
I see a maturity in my children and know that their experience at Future
Flight has made a difference in their development. I will
be ever grateful for your exposure of science to them. Thank you SO
MUCH for your tireless devotion to children in this state.

I am writing to say thank you very much for doing such an excellent job
with this year's Future Flight Hawaii's residential program at the Kilauea
Military Camp. Our daughter spent two years in the day program in Hilo
and two years at the residential. She "graduates" this year (too old for
next year's program) so we feel lucky that she was able to attend the
residential programs while they were in operation. This year's program
met and exceeded your usual high quality. Future Flight has made a
lasting impression on our family. It has made the distant and complex
seem close, reachable, real. It has demonstrated by example how to
approach problems, test ideas, understand the value of failures, modify
behavior and thought patterns, schedule and structure effort, and
appreciate teammates. Future Flight also addresses these children at a
critical time in their lives when they are becoming aware of the larger
world around them, and about the things that have gone on before them.
This is an anxious time for everyone, and Future Flight helps kids to
construct a positive vision of their place in the community, world, and
unknown future. We wish Jim Cox and Dale Olive the best of luck in their
pursuit to participate further with the space program. They are certainly
excellent candidates for teaching the cosmos to kids. They both have a
way of getting the youngsters comfortable with supposedly complicated
concepts. Indeed, that is precisely what Future Flight succeeds in doing
so well year after year with all the crew, administration and teachers.

Thanks so much again for giving our son the opportunity to join you at Future
Flight this summer. He had such a great time and it's nice to see him excited
about learning. You have provided him with so many opportunities and new doors
to open and explore. The graduation ceremony today was a wonderful and
heartwarming. Many thanks to you and your fantastic, enthusiastic, and
dedicated staff for an outstanding program. It was nice to see the videos
highlighting the week's activities. Good job to all!

I can't begin to thank the both of you and the
staff for being such a bright spot in my life. It is so refreshing every
year to be among excited, dedicated, and awesome educators whose goals are to
provide our children with the opportunities to reach for the stars and be the
best that they can be! One thing I do know, the memories are deep and
they will always remain a part of my heart.
To you my friends I say thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work,
play, and learn beside such incredible individuals.

I just wanted to thank you and Rene for inviting me to participate in
your awesome program. it was fun and challenging. I am proud of the
videos that the girls created. they were a great group to work with.
I hope that the media mobile will be able to participate in next year's
program. I am also excited by the possibility of future collaborations
via the WIT grant.

Thank you for another wonderful experience at Future Flight Hawai'i.
I had more fun than ever before. I laughed more than ever before. I
think that my brain finally processed more than ever before, too --
I have to hear the same thing over and over before I fully understand it . . .
so I guess this was the magic year for a few concepts! ;)

One parent came up to me after the family module and thanked me. She
said that for the first time in her life, she finally understood Newton's
Laws of Motion. I always think of the quote about "Give a man a fish -- he eats for a day . . .
Teach him how to fish -- he eats for a
lifetime. . . " Thank you very much.

Have to tell you that it was a perfect end to the year for me. It was a
fun and enjoyable challenge to create something new on the spot.
It was the correct timing to get my mind into the curriculum side of teaching again.
I'm excited to see if I can incorporate at least some of what I learned into my curriculum.

Sounds like Future Flight this year is to be a BLAST! Perhaps you should
think about starting up a year-long Future Flight school. You would not
have any problems with getting students or teachers to apply.

Just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful memories. All of you really
inspired me to want to be a better teacher. I realize now how unprepared I
was for my modules, but all of you just jumped right in to assist and
support me. . . a quiet, non-judgemental, genuine support that allows and
encourages risk taking. Thanks! I really wasn't sure what to expect, but
I had a wonderful experience and I've been sharing it with fellow teachers
as we prep our rooms for school. We start next Monday. Yikes!

Congratulations! It was a pleasure to see so many young people so

Thank you so much for all your hard work during Future Flight. I had a
great time! I had a great Earth Guide and our Junior Earth Guides were
nice also. They were a fun part of our crew. You guys work so hard to
make it possible for hundreds of children each year for the past 13
years.I'm lucky to have been able to experience all the fun in learning

The kids were smiling and beaming over the good time they had in Future
Flight Hawaii. It's really priceless the memories Future Flight Hawaii
and your staff give to the kids. My only wish is that you were 20 years
younger so this wonderful opportunity could go on for a longer time. The
kids get so excited about sharing their experiences and showing us their
projects and experiments. Even after the long day, they stayed up to 1
a.m. to talk to us about their trip. The beautiful thing about Future
Flight Hawaii was the fun they had receiving an education. If only the
school districts could accomplish the same thing.

We are writing to tell you what an enjoyable time we had. We
enjoyed the different modules and especially sharing with our family when we
returned home to tell them of all the things we did and learned. Everyone was

It is so hard to put into words how very grateful I am to have had the
Future Flight experience. I have found it impossible to put into words
what the experience was like. It was beyond inspirational...it was
uplifting and the most positive teaching experience I have had in years
